Sheldon Jackson Museum Interpretive Planning

Please review the draft interpretive plan and provide feedback. We will have meetings on October 15 & 16 to listen to our communities. Or you can send comments to us here.

The Sheldon Jackson Museum in Sitka is working on an interpretive plan for their exhibits. Part of a reaccreditation project, SJM has been wanting to take a good look at their galleries for some time. The collections highlight a complex story that involves Alaska Native artwork and culture, boarding schools and colonization, and the museum’s role of collecting and preserving art. It is important to us to hear from visitors, artists, stakeholders, and the local and broader Alaska Native community. Thank you for providing your input.

Join us in person at Sheldon Jackson in Sitka on October 15th or 16th to provide feedback, or join us via the Zoom meeting on October 15th at 4:30pm or join the Zoom meeting on October 16th at 1:00pm.
